Barclay is one of the three witches of Three's Forest. Like the other two witches of the forest, he has his own vision of beauty and tries to apply it to the forest while trying to counter the other witches' glowshrooms and vines. Although less destructive to the natural environment, his yellow flowers are also cluttering up the forest. He specializes in alchemy and transformation magic.
He has a cottage by the meadow, full of yellow flowers of his own making.
Personality
Barclay admires the concept of heroes and values honour and tenacity while disliking charm and comprehension, as they do not correlate with his picture of a hero. Apart from this Barclay loves reading, especially about heroes, as well as writing. He has always been curious about acting.
Background
Barclay went to a prestigious witch academy called Solsthera but dropped out. The tempo was too high, stopping him from perfecting his work. Pinot describes him as naturally gifted, despite always napping through the lessons. After dropping out, he went to see the world and decided to settle down in Three's Forest. He was the last of the three witches to arrive.
Relationships
Before The Witches' War: Barclay has what is initially a negative relationship with the other two witches of Three's Forest. He views Glume as a "true villain" and although he cannot say the same for Mycel, he describes her as shifty.
After The Witches' War: After the war, the three witches come together and find that they now enjoy each others company to the point where they can consider each other friends. Barclay admits that he's impressed by both of them and that he can see how their magic is cute in their own way.
Pinot is Barclay's former classmate. They reunite at the end of the Witches' War after it is revealed Pinot has orchestrated the whole conflict. Although Pinot always saw Barclay as his nemesis, Barclay only remembers him as "some guy in his class" and was never aware of any rivalry, ultimately seeing him as harmless. Pinot seemingly has a bit of a crush on Barclay, to which Barclay appears oblivious and has not yet indicated that he returns.
Chance Machine
Some of the items that Barclay wears can be found in his chance machine, together with an assortment of other items. It's unlocked by winning his favor and completing the quest "Upheaval with Barclay." If a different witch is chosen, Barclay's shop can still be unlocked by reaching 500 affection with him.

Partner-in-heroics, I probably should've asked for your blessing before I started, but inspiration strikes without warning! You see, I started writing a stage play about your adventures. I thought about writing a novel, but the couple of forays we've made into acting made me want to try out something new. And anyway there's so much action and adventure in your... adventures, so a stage play makes sense! That way people can experience the excitement for themselves. To be honest, I was in a bit of a writing slump a while ago, before you came to the forest. But then we became friends and you come to the forest from time to time to tell me about everything you've seen and done! It's so fun listening to you describe all these places and people, I wanted to write it down and maybe have other people read it and know how great you are too. To be even more honest, it's been kind of lonely in the forest. I do like it here! A lot more than I liked Solsthera. But there was always so much going on at Solsthera. Even if it got annoying, there were a ton of things to do and people I had to talk to. Here, I'm pretty isolated despite how busy I am between restoring the forest and writing. Chit Chat
Chit-chatting with a NPC will give you a maximum of +1 per day. They will repeat the same sentences over and over, but it’s a nice way of getting to know a bit more about Dappervolk and its inhabitants.
