Bearnard is a farmer in Louise Hill. He is described as middle aged for a bear and is especially passionate about turnips. He owns the lower left house on the map and is the first NPC to be encountered.
Personality[]
Bearnard is a bit of a lone ranger that has a hard time asking for help. He's adamant that he can manage the farm by himself even when it becomes overbearing for him.
He loves being a farmer and there’s nothing in the world that makes him more happy than turnips. Although he enjoys desserts and other vegetables, "nothings beats a turnip".
Background[]
When Bearnard was a cub he had nowhere to go. The leader of Louise Hill took him in. When they moved away, Bearnard took over the farm. According to Bearnard, they weren't great at being a leader, so them leaving didn't make much of a difference. He rarely talks about them.
Relationships[]
Buli's thieving and dishonest tendencies has made for a strained neighbour dynamic with Bearnard. He wishes for her to stop stealing his turnips but does not want to be too firm on her.

Hello, world-hopper! I got to thinking about the first time we met. Found you by the side of the road, memory-less! Well, you've made plenty of memories since, I hope. And then you made one of my turnips up and go! They still do that. The turnips, I mean. Sprout legs and everything since new world-hoppers are always cropping up from time to time. Maybe you can offer them some advice and leave a simple farmer some turnips at the end of the day. All the places you've been and you still come back here to give me a helping hand. How about it? Taken an interest in farming yourself? If you're worried about animating all your crops, you can start with a small plot. While you're out traveling, I'll watch over it for you. When you come back and visit me, you can tend to your little garden—borrow a bit of the farming life, get yourself on stable footing before you next head out. Chit Chat[]
Chit-chatting with a NPC will give you a maximum of 
+1 Affection per day. They will repeat the same sentences over and over but it’s a nice way of getting to know a bit more about Dappervolk and its inhabitants.
