Evolving Alchemy is the practice of combining five identical items to form a new one (or new ones, in the case of alchemy chains). It is done through the strange bubbling cauldron, which can be found in the Item Alchemy section of the account tab. When items are combined, they will be permanently destroyed.
- Combining five identical pieces of NPC clothing will yield an alchemy variant, except Rare NPC clothing.
- When a non-NPC item can be evolved, the item description will almost always say a variation upon the statement "Try alchemizing 5 of these together."
- Limited items lack alchemy variants and only certain items can be improved more than once.

Single-Step Alchemy
Single-Step Alchemy is the process by which five identical items are alchemized together in order to form one new item, after which the alchemy chain ends. This process is mostly limited to clothing items and hatching items and is often referred to as "item evolution."

Multi-Step Alchemy
Alchemizing five identical items from random item alchemy will often yield often a new variant with improved stats. You can then alchemize five of the new variant to get a second variant (referred to as "double-step evolving alchemy"). For some items, the alchemy chain ends there. For other items, however, five of the second variant can be alchemized into a third variant (referred to as "triple-step evolving alchemy").
The tables below are separated by items whose alchemy chains have two stages and items whose alchemy chains have three stages.
Double-Step Evolving Alchemy
Each alchemy evolution requires five of the previous item in the chain. For example, a Blue Snail Helm is created by alchemizing five Snail Helms, and a Pink Snail Helm is created by alchemizing five Blue Snail Helms.

---|---|---|---|

Triple-Step Evolving Alchemy
Each alchemy evolution requires five of the previous item in the chain. For example, a Grassy Braid is created by alchemizing five Grassy Bobs, a Grassy Pigtails is made by alchemizing five Grassy Braids, and a Grassy Meadow Braids is made by alchemizing five Grassy Pigtails.

NPC Clothing Color Variants
Alchemizing five identical pieces of clothing from regular NPC shops will yield the recolored version. This is known colloquially as the "Alchemized" or "Alchemy" variant. Mixing the Common and Uncommon variants of an item will not create the Alchemy variant; for instance, you must combine five of Buli's Mysterious Dark Dress in order to receive Buli's Mysterious Golden Dress.
Note: Rare items from NPC shops cannot be used to create the Alchemy variant. Only the Common and Uncommon variants will work.
To view the Alchemized variants of NPC clothing, you can view each NPC's page (for a preview of how all items look together) or the item page itself. Event NPCs do not have Alchemy variants for their items.
