The First Mate is a seasonal NPC named Tao who can be found at the Shipwreck during the Johaness' Egg Hatch event.
Background
She works and lives on The Shipwreck with its crew, among which are the Captain and the cook. The Captain is a mysterious old man who's features disappear from memory as quickly as they are seen. The cook is described by him as a grumpy fellow who prefers not to be bothered.
Personality
She's cheery, direct and a bit mischievous. She notably carries a hand saw with her.
Relationships
While shipwrecked near Aviar Cove, Johaness found her and quickly made friends. He often asks her for stories and she refers to him as a "good kid". They run a shop together while fixing the ship during Johaness' Egg Hatch.
During the Winter Advent Calendar mini-event, it is revealed that she's friends with a different seasonal NPC, Lian. Lian is the first shown to call her by the name Tao.
Chit Chat
Chit-chatting with an NPC will give a maximum of +1 
per day. They will repeat the same sentences indefinitely, but it’s a nice way of getting to know a bit more about Dappervolk and its inhabitants.
