Solar Warden - November 2021
"Can a society sustain itself on just the sun's light and hope? Having spotted a large oasis among faraway desert dunes, we intended to replenish our water rations before carrying on but were stopped by solar wardens. After explanation, Oran and I were invited to their city of stone and clay, and received an answer to that very question. In exchange for my wares, they asked only for materials we were no longer using. It seemed a hard life to build, world-hopper, but admittedly, a beautiful one." - Pai
"The desert is pretty temperate this time of year, but no less dry for the cooler weather. Pai and I were invited to a self-sustaining city built around an oasis full of the cleanest water I've ever seen. The radiant guardians of the region showed us how to refashion our used stock into new traveling tents, and I even made a new blanket for Norja! But I'm still shaking sand out of my shoes from this excursion, so if you'll excuse me." - Oran

"On our travels through a misty forest in the quiet night time gloom, we found ourselves in the middle of a ghostly procession, mistaken for those of a spirit-like nature. It was thanks to some discerning eyes that we were able to free ourselves from the line and avoid an untimely end. Perhaps our predicament was for the best, as it granted us an audience with those who guide spirits home." - Pai
"You know, I always thought ghosts or spirits would be these shadowy creatures out to get you behind every campfire. Actually, they're just lost and sad a lot of the time, or at least that's what it felt like to me. Pai hasn't talked much about the incident since then, but I think they would agree." - Oran

"We are a traveling family, but I spent much of my youth in the Port so there are still some things like the sea breeze that will forever feel like home to me. Upon our arrival at these distant shores, the fresh briny scent of the ocean was accompanied by sweet roses and fresh fruits. The source came from the great sunlit canopies of an oceanside greenhouse. After a remarkable tour of rare flora, we managed to strike up a deal for the wares you see before you." - Pai
"The end of summer always makes me a bit nostalgic, I think it hit Pai a bit too. We were in the middle of talking about our early childhood summers when we found a botanist guild on the shore, eager to give us a tour of the latest growings in their gardens. Did you know there are plants that eat insects?! Usually it's the other way around. They wouldn't have survived the journey back to the Port, but we made a deal for other interesting stuff!" - Oran

Glasswork Artificer - August 2021
"We simply followed the lights, curiously crafted and twinkling almost mischievously. When we arrived, all was initially quiet and dark. When morning came, the magnificent glasswork bathed the surrounding town and its own stone with dancing colours, quite the sight to behold. Within, our footsteps echoed around and above us in the vaulted ceiling of a great hall. Its occupants? A society of crafters and mages, mysterious in their ways and curious about the sciences and technologies outside their world." - Pai
"When we come across secluded towns in our travels, Pai and I usually think to restock our travel rations first and foremost. But this place was just... entrancing! Yeah, that's the word. The prismatic lights seemed like they were dancing all around us as we traded with resolute artificers. I'm proud to say none of the glassware we brought back broke, despite how tough it was to transport. - Oran

"Thrown off course by inclement weather, Oran and I found ourselves on a lonesome path. The torrential rains obscured our vision to mere feet before us, leaving us to navigate by sheer instinct and will. How fortunate it was that we came upon a reclusive manor rather than the edge of the cliff it rested upon. Despite the forlorn air of the estate, its residents were strangely forthcoming in treating us as guests. We traded wares and bid a farewell once the storm receded, something tells me that was the right thing to do." - Pai

"Have you heard about this? A hidden magnolia grove that stands very nearly at the edge of the continent. We were fortunate to arrive at an early bloom. Round beetles greeted us dotting the landscape, hard at work bouncing between the pink and white flowers. After days of cautious exploration we uncovered old paths among the branches, and at last met the flighty caretakers of the ancient trees. The denizens were shy, but curious of our wares and eager for trade. Please enjoy browsing these fine rarities." - Pai
"We recently visited a quiet grove filled with various blooming plants and spent a watchful time there observing the turn of the season.
