"Corn is the usual choice for a maze this time of year, but Pai and I somehow stumbled off course into one made out of sunflowers. The biggest ones were taller than Norja, even on her hind legs! Thankfully, our folks were skilled navigators and taught us everything they knew, so it was nothing to find the exit. We each got a pound of fresh roasted seeds as a prize, I may have some left if you want to try them." - Oran

"I've never felt so quietly watched before, to the point where I was wondering if those bright eyes between the trees were real. They could have been plants, I guess. If I hung upside down from a branch, the ground above my head with its pinpricks of glowing plants would look like stars, and below me was just a black void. "A cold mist rolled in as we traversed the shores of a moonlit lake, bringing with it the scent of wine and roses. Heady as that was, pressing on brought opportunity. Beneath the earth was a cellar of bottles from nearly a millennia ago, but when the chance presented itself to taste such a fine vintage I found it rather wanting, rather odd really." - Pai
"You travel a lot too, have you ever come across someplace that looks completely normal but just feels wrong? We found a nice vineyard this trip, but the longer we stayed, the more I didn't want to be there. Of course, Pai had to try some of their older vintages, and dragged the trip out longer than it had to be. I think I prefer tea." - Oran

"In an empty field all was not as it seemed. While we were camped to prepare sustenance, what appeared to be small rodents observed us from afar. I thought perhaps they would be drawn in by an offering of crumbs but it was our wares that held them rapt, and eventually the boldest little fellow presented himself with someone's handwritten offer to trade. Perhaps an animal agent is not as rare for you world hopping kind, but I do believe this was the first mouse liason I've encountered." - Pai
"Would you believe we traded for all this stuff with some mice? Obviously someone trained them well, but we never got to meet them. They didn't seem interested, but I was very tempted to share a cookie or two with them." - Oran

Wisteria Garden - April 2022
"Upon our arrival at a fragrant glade full of wisteria, we felt perfectly at peace. We were drawn to the place like butterflies drawn to a flower, the sunlight streamed through a canopy of vines and we didn't question the quietude of the place. Perhaps it was just as well, as our every move was being watched by curious creatures of the meadow." - Pai
"While Pai stopped to smell the flowers, you can bet I sprinted straight for the secret paths and winding passages! It was like a really nice and well lit labyrinth, although I'm not sure if it was meant to be one. In any case, once Pai caught up we also caught wind of a pair of ears peeking out from the bushes, so we made a new friend! We ended up being able to trade with all the wild creatures living in that purple meadow, it was dizzyingly fun." - Oran

"The sound of a thousand beating wings woke us one starry night as we were at rest in our camps, their bearers flying too high to be seen. Intrigued by the flurry, we made haste to follow unseen and at last saw them - magnificent moths, all circling a perpetually burning lamp outside of an ancient library. Within the library, we found literature on any subject you could imagine, though the sorting system was... indiscriminate. We were fortunate to broker a deal for these goods before dawn, as the library disappeared without a trace the moment we left, along with the scalewings." - Pai
"Pai and I have come across a lot of libraries since we started traveling, but we've never found one with quite so many bugs, though there weren't any signs of paper damage. We saw some scientific scrolls that would have been old when my Grandma was just a kid, but they were grouped with the latest harlequins for some reason! I wanted to go back after sleeping a bit more, but the library was gone the next day. I'd think I had dreamt it if we hadn't traded for these goods." - Oran

"Our travel plans were interrupted earlier in the month by a rather exclusive invitation. I'm not normally one for the customs of the upper class, but the appeal of being able to acquire some rare merchandise drew us to it like moths to incandescent lamps. All in all, it was a fruitful evening albeit taxing on the ears and feet." - Pai
"The rich folks in Aviar Cove can be a bit stuffy at times, but they sure know how to put on a good party and as some of the most traveled merchants on this part of the continent Pai and I got invitations to one of their bashes. I'm sure it's not surprising that even after a night of dancing and meals with way too many courses we still found time to barter with a well-known tailor for their latest goods. I snagged some leftover party favors, too!" - Oran
