Suburbanvolk is a seasonal mini-event that made its first appearance on April Fools' Day 2025 (April 1, 2025). It is active from April 1st to April 7th. It features the event shop from with items from previous April Fools' events and uses the same event currency, Cosmos Shards.


Temporary Features

During Suburbanvolk, there are temporary site features that replace normal site operations. The temporary features are listed below.

  • The site's header and logo change to a different image.
  • The player's avatar and each pet image are changed to a random doodle for 24 hours.
  • The player can DIG once per day on the home page to receive any of the following: Cosmos Shard, Cosmos Shard Trunk, or Lawn Dirt (a hatching item for a pet that is necessary for some seasonal pet alchemy recipes).
    • Once a player has DUG each day, the word "DIG" on the sign will be struck through.
  • A seasonal currency called Cosmos Shards drops from Random Events, Random Item Alchemy, and Agnes' Daily Gift.
  • A temporary shop in Peddler's Port named "Agnes' Cellar of Lost Things" (run by Agnes) sells items for Cosmos Shards.

Cosmos Shards

Cosmos Shards are rare currency obtained from Agnes' Daily Gift (five - or a trunk - for speaking to her each day), Random Item Alchemy, Random Events, or digging a hole during Suburbanvolk. Some years they have also been available obtaining a high score on a minigame or from Adventuring.

Cosmos Shards are account-bound, which means they cannot be traded. They are removed from the player's inventory at the end of the first week of April.

Cosmos Shard
A murky dark purple and light blue jagged shard.
 A small shard of buffed glass that when peered into, reflects an unseen cosmos. Available seasonally in early April, and disappears at the end of the first week.
Cosmos Shard Trunk
A murky dark purple and light blue trunk with jagged shards of the same color decorating the top and sides.
 A celestial trunk somehow covered in chunks of the sky. Open to receive 5 Cosmos Shards. Available seasonally during early April.

New April Fools' Pets

While each April Fools' event brings at least one new pet, this year's event debuted six, in addition to the first occurrence of alchemized Quaint pets (previous alchemy pets had always been either of Fantastical or Legendary rarity). This left many players wondering if the decision was intentional or a mistake.[1]
